I have been surrounded by photography my entire life. My grandmother always had a camera around her neck and the walls in my house were overly crowded with framed pictures of family and friends. One thing that always stood out to me about these pictures was how real they were. Not everyone was looking directly at the camera, but everyone did have a genuine smile on their face. This is what I aim for in my photography. Real pictures. Real emotion. The reality of your life at this moment!
I graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelors in Studio Arts. While in school I interned with the photographers at Saturday Night Live, as well as a black and white film photographer, which helped me fine tune my dark room skills. After I graduated I had a few random jobs before settling at The Saturday Evening Post where I worked as a graphic designer in the art licensing department for 8 years.
My family moved to Madison, Indiana in August of 2012 and I have found out that I am surrounded by so much natural beauty that it makes taking pictures a dream! Downtown Madison is a go-to location of mine, with endless backdrops. My sessions are very laid back and fun. You’ll probably hear some bad jokes, and I will most likely get your kiddos a little wound up, but it will all be worth it 🙂
